Based on a lot of the comments in this thread, it seems people care more about football than our children's brains. Why do you think that is?

The problem isn't sports, it's the companies that run them.

And you can replace "sports" with pretty much anything; e.g. music, movies, news, politics, tech, fashion, etc.

I completely get that (even if being a Bears fan sometimes makes it hard to be a fan of football). I don't think we should (or could) give up football, I just thought it was fucked up that people immediately came to the defense of "football" when the issue was with the NFL.
