I used to work at McDonalds. The milkshake/ice cream machine was a pain in the ass and was constantly breaking down in the summer when it had to be used a lot. The worst part was the customers (especially the rich suburban moms) who, every time as though they were all reading from the same script, would say, "Seriously? Seriously?! That thing is always broken when I come! What is going on? Why can't you just fix it already?! The one on XYZ street isn't broken. Why is this one always broken?!" Then when they get to the second window, "Just so you know, I'm never coming to this McDonalds again. I mean, this is just ridiculous!"

In short, even if it's broken/being cleaned, don't be an asshole to the people working there. It's almost always outside of their control, and they're just trying to do their job. They don't have anything against you and they're not just trying to fuck with you.
