My point was that the app in itself should not be the focus and just as some of the other comments and reports suggest has also been useful for women to save themselves.
I agree with you, the purpose is to draw attention to the KSA policy and this has succeeded in that.
As I replied to the OP, the base intention is positive and well-intended.. Just the focus should be on the policy/law.. And not the app in itself.

Your motive is good! Trying to change the system for the betterment and empowerment of women in KSA.
The approach, however, seems to harm the current albeit slightly beneficial system.
Bringing focus in such laws that the app helps with is crucial but blaming the tool as such for these laws seems to skew the focus.

When you thought of 7 minutes in Heaven.. which celebrity was your actual target and one that you would have to work your way upto ?

It appears that the app is a way to make things easy for the women.. Not a huge step in the right direction but a step nonetheless.
The way the title was worded I assumed it was a way to hinder even the little freedom they have.

So far this is how I see it..
The system is shit! The app makes it easier to handle the system.
The journo is putting pressure to remove app to try and change the entire system?
If the app is removed, it would only make it a bit harder for women to deal with it.. Wont affect the system.
