When throwing something that rotates while it spins (knives) how do you ensure you hit your target with the blade and not the handle? How many rotations does a knife typically get per throw?

Were I to go back now and re-watch House, I bet I would feel the same way in many episodes. I get that he's an asshole, but I think there were too many times where he was cruel to people for fucked up reasons, that did nothing interesting for his character.
