I think a lot of people are going to see this and think of Psychonauts the video game.

Do you think the Autism spectrum should be more clearly defined? I read a list of people with autism, and it named people from Albert Einstein to Steve Jobs. How are people supposed to understand what someone means when they describe themselves as "autistic"?

How does one diagnose autism if its such a broad spectrum? I feel like its like saying a headache is just a headache without giving a specific reason for calling it a headache (fever, inflamation, sinuses, stroke, etc.)

I believe that if autism is going to be better understood by the general public, then it needs to be better defined.

I notice your post history has you involved in a sub for aspergers. Would it be correct to assume you have that? And if so, why would you broaden yourself under the category of autism when you have a more specific diagnosis right there? (If you dont have aspergers then I withdraw my question, but I hope you see what im getting at)

Im not really talking about you diagnosing these people... I'm saying that when they are professionally diagnosed and people like yourself present themselves as "autistic" would it not make sense to have more specific naming conventions for your condition? You saying you are autistic could mean you are anything from Albert Einstein to non verbal.

Do you see what I mean?
