They both claim that they are for pain relief/fever reducers. They both act by inhibiting cyclooxygenases (COX-1 and COX-2). Tylenol does not do this as effectively. Ibuprofen is anti-inflammatory and anti-clotting. Tylenol is better though if you are under 6 months old or pregnant, and only then as far as I am concerned.
