Big D, Deaf, as in 100% hearing loss no vocal use at all, usually stays within the deaf community. Little d, deaf, usually is considered hard of hearing and they usually use their voice and go between the deaf and hearing communities. The more you know!

That's one of the biggest issues in the Deaf community. They don't see being deaf as a disability. The Deaf community is very tight knit and protective because of years of harassment and abuse. Some deaf people are becoming more open to CI's but many are so trenched in their beliefs that it is hard to change their minds. They don't want to lose the community that they has always been there for them.

It's just basically a condensed definition of what my father told me when I asked what the difference was. I do like that definition on wiki. The problem is its a grey area. Some Deaf communities have a harder definition on what makes you Deaf than others.

Cool. As long as your comfortable and confident you're good to go. I saw in your post that people made fun on you for being a robot? Fuck them, you're an android not a robot and it's pretty damn cool. I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky procedure but I think it'll be worth it.

Have you ever wanted to learn sign language? I grew up in a deaf house hold, father is Deaf (big D not little d) and my mother is an ASL interpreter. I've know deaf kids and adults that did not learn sign language and they felt like they didn't fit in with the deaf crowd or the hearing crowd. Do you ever feel this way?
