And you really can't see any potential downsides to making it easier for human beings to view disturbing sensory input and not feel bad about? I mean, there's a reason why we have a strong visceral reaction to violent or upsetting imagery--ie. because it let's us know that something is not right with the input in question.

You remove that and you may be taking away a very important part of the human being's ability to correctly deduce when something may be very, very wrong. Feels like you're kind of playing with fire here.
