On the one hand, I agree that’s something to consider. On the other, I think it’s problematic to reduce the whole to a misconception of what Mueller’s job was.

Mueller was given the power to pursue any crimes he discovered during his investigation. A big part of that was obstruction of justice. Publicly available info of Trump and others around him has been deemed by well respected prosecutors as strong enough evidence of obstruction. And there’s clearly more that’s been gone on behind the scenes that Mueller and co would have discovered. It can’t just be that we all had unrealistic expectations of Mueller and media fueled that.

My girlfriend when we first started dating: "Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are the best TV shows ever!"

Me: "Have you ever watched The Wire?"

Her: "No."

We just finished all 5 seasons, and midway through season 2 she was saying, "Yup, The Wire is by far the best show I've ever seen."

Thank you, Andre, for helping to give us all something special.

If I recall the exact statement, he said he would work with Mueller but also would issue an initial statement. But it’s been taken out of context and reduced to “He said he’d consult but lied.” I’m really angry about all of this, but this part isn’t the smoke/fire it seems.

A lot of Churches and pastors supported Trump. My mother-in-law’s pastor asked the congregation to vote for Trump in 2016.

As a non-believer, I see that as another of the absurd ways in which the Catholic Church has compromised American politics. How do you feel about it?
