To do work on missions like these is a phd required? I'm about to get my masters in astrophysics and would love to do this sort of work, but I don't particularly want to go down the phd route.

How much did you pay to get essentially a reddit ad placed?

What would you say is the best route for moving to a similar role in a different field? I have the technical background but no domain specific knowledge which is asked for on applications, how would I go about gaining that? Another degree? Accept a much lower position and move up?

Who cares? How many of these promoted AMAs are just advertising now?
