Why on earth was the chrome book ever created? I can do everything I I could ever do on a chrome book, on the phone that I'm typing this with now!

I don't understand how they can compete with other laptops/tablets?

I'm not meaning to sound rude, or denounce the chrome book, I'm just curious to hear from the point of view of someone on the inside.
