Both are ways to continue shooting after college and to get more or less padi while doing it. One is through the military (Army Marksmanship Unit) so you'll have to go through all of the Army requirements and be stationed at Benning.

Before you even see the competitors they have already passed an equipment check looking for every possible unfair advantage. The suits have a certain thickness and rigidity that they must pass or cannot be used. Rifles are checked in dimensions and weight and can be modified right there in front of an official to make sure it's passing. Officials during the competition are looking for angles mostly like the angle of your arm in prone, or to make sure the grip of the gun is not touching your chest in standing. They will also ensure the overall safety of all of the guns considering the danger in using the guns. These days they are also making sure there is no illegal communication between the shooter and the coach during the match.
