Yes. I did an Alaskan cruise through Carnival. It costed $40 for a seat on a bus to go to the Mendenhall Glacier Park which is totally free if you get there on your own. There were clearly non sanctioned tour guides and people stationed just outside of the dock area hoping to catch a fare. I definitely learned a lot that trip.

This is the real discussion right here. Politics, nimby's, misinformation and apathy have plagued every single decent effort for decent transportation upgrades in California, let alone the country. Caltrain is doing a great job in doing what they can and leading the US to a better infrastructure.

The electricity company loved this, and practically let the Milwaukee run their trains cost free if it fit within certain time parameters if I remember correctly.
