How do you think some of the most terrible movies actually make it to the big screen? I would assume at some point SOMEONE read the scripts and thought, "Wow, that's awful."

Does Rotten Tomatoes feel like being a peer review source to prevent the waste of production costs?

What's your favorite subatomic particle?

That's really interesting and makes perfect sense. Even though movies may provide entertainment and sometimes comment on relevant social, political, and cultural issues, it is an industry and thus a business. I think sometimes we forget that. I may be wrong but I was once told straight to DVD movies are not all necessarily failures. It was just determined that they would make more money in the home market, rather than that of the cinema.
