How much of the movie "The butterfly effect" was actually true?

Hijacking a reply, as a former lazy procrastinator myself. Say what you will about Jordan Peterson, but I would give a listen to him a chance. Outside of all the "controversy", he talks a lot about how we are all just useless human beings, and how impressive it is that we can even function together.

Following on that, he calls for meaning through responsibility and effort. Mainly for ourselves. That's the whole "Clean your room" issue, if you've heard it. "Stop browsing Twitter, and go make the world great! You have no idea what it can lead to. That's your adventure! Stop being so god damn useless."

It's quite inspirational, but not in the sort of "Oh, 'Even Google started in a garage', I'll remember that for later" way. More in the "STOP BEING USELESS RIGHT NOW!" sort of way. I guess it offers more of a reason than any sort of inspiration.

Maybe it doesn't work for everyone, but it sure does for me. That's why I always recommend giving it a chance.

Admittedly not having read the book, I am impressed by Thiel, and after reading a lot of replies from you in here, also very impressed by your approach to life and issues.

Seeing there seems to have been at least some discrepancy between what you 2 believed to be true (the Trump issue is the one that caught my eye), would you say he changed your views on any issues, or did perhaps you change any of his, if that was ever on the table?
