Skeptical of this story. This sounds like Christian science, not Amish.

I wonder if the biggest thing preventing healthcare reform is the hospital lobby working together with insurance companies. What they're doing really should be illegal. You go to the emergency room and receive treatment. After the treatment, the hospital can literally give you whatever bill they want. It's a good deal for the hospital though. And the fact that hospitals can do this means you want to get good insurance, which you're going to pay a lot for. So insurance companies are happy too.

The abortion issue really comes down to whether you think a fetus is an individual. Libertarians believe in removing restrictions on the actions of individuals as long as those actions don't infringe on the freedom of others (e. g. by killing them).

I think any libertarian would tell you that two (or more, by the way) people should be able to make any contract that they want. Whether there should be such a thing as legal marriage could possibly be a matter of debate.
