My GF with CF got her lungs on Dec 22 and she hasn't been extubated yet :(

Thanks man. She still has one chest tube left. She has been in the ICU and intubated since Oct 5th when her lungs failed and her CO2 shot through the roof. Then when even intubated her lungs couldn't do their job she was put on ECMO and stayed on it for three weeks before she got her lungs. Best XMas present ever. But she had severe adherence of her lungs to her chest wall and the surgery was quite complex (she lost a ton of blood and has been having complications, pneumonia, etc). She came very close to not making it multiple times over the last few months so we take it one day at a time. I miss her home though... It's been rough, she's slowly slowly getting better. You guys with CF are warriors. I'm glad your surgery went well and you're already ready to kick ass!
