Thank Fucking You.

The light washes over you.

Your Ears are blinded by that light. Your Eyes vibrate with the Machine's pulses, running over the texture of it's surface. You pick up the scent of Sulfur & Lye with your Hands, a scent that will not leave them for weeks. Your Nose tastes sugar, then syrup, then the Nectar of Prisoner's Honey, only to be replaced by a flavor you do not recognize, but know will not be discovered for another 1005 years. Your tongue views you in every stage of growth, and even the ones you have yet to reach, the final frames of which are immediately blocked out by your mind. No mind should have have to contain so many ferrets, tentacles, and fava beans.

The light washes over you.

Because no system is perfect. And he said himself, it's more complicated than it looks; maybe a buncha people didn't show up to shift, maybe the other checkpoints are more slammed than usual at the same time and they couldn't lend support, maybe there was a GD conference in town and everybody left at the same time. It's not 100% on the TSA, and especially not on all their agents, as easy as it is to pigeonhole the issue that way.

Given that if they Don't follow the rules they lose their job, I'd say it has more to say about others' ignorance than it does TSA agents' attitudes.

What do you want, for them to go all Les Miserables and strike against the airline industry? If even 40% of the TSA workforce went on strike, you'd be BEGGING for a 45 minute line after the slowdown that follows.
