It appears shes done answering questions, but I can talk about it from the perspective of a child who experienced a staggeringly fundamentalist background that a lot of people who I know who have recovered from the physical, emotional and mental abuse from a similar background frequently use The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as a vehicle to talk about reintigration and our own healing processes, and the show handles that innocence and mourning the sense of loss over what you 'missed out on' both sensitively and accurately. It doesn't feel condescending and the humor seems to be a great way to open up subject matters that have otherwise been difficult to talk about.

The overarching thread that has resonated with the people I've seen people in the support groups I participate in is the way that Kimmy always seemed to "know" the truth that what she was being told and brainwashed into just wasn't believeable and that when she had to go along with it, it was because it was a survival mechanism, but there always lived this part inside of her that knew there was another, better, healthier way, and she was going to find it.

Overall, Kimmy Schmidt is an excellent therapy device for the abused who I know personally, including myself.
