Here is some data on warming in Stockholm from 1859 to present
Notice how it is linear? Industry, however, hasn't been linear since the 1800's. You would think, as industry (and the pollution that it creates) increases its output, the rate of global warming would also increase. But that doesn't appear to be the case. So what makes you think that reducing output would reduce the rate of global warming? The two might not be related.
I'm not convinced we know with certainty what is causing the rising temperatures.
