So far the story covered by the Globe and Mail seems to have focussed on northern Canada and the so called "highway of tears". Yet egregious violence against aboriginal women has been reported elsewhere, notable in northern Québec (that story about Val-d'Or policemen).

Does violence against aboriginal owmen follow the same patterns across Canada or in the situation in the North West particular in any way?
