What's the most amazingly stupid situation you ever encountered?

And have you seen anything since being a paramedic that's changed your life?

And if so, how on earth do we begin to deprogram millions of people?! There are so many stories of their complete rejection of facts which don't fit their narrative in favour of complete and utter contradictory nonsense spouted by raging white men. How can we ever break through that shell?

If I may... The vaccine is great, it offers a lot of protection against infection by a lot of variants that we've already encountered. But it can't promise to prevent infection by variants we have yet to encounter, my understanding is that many of the vaccines currently available don't really protect you against the Delta variant, and that is a really nasty one. It was caused by too many unvaccinated people passing the infection around like a parcel at a party.

If only a teeny number of people who can't get the vaccine for health reasons (like, they'll die), don't get vaccinated, then they are protected against the virus by the fact that everyone they encounter is vaccinated, and therefore not able to pass the infection on to them. But as soon as lots of people aren't getting vaccinated, and are hanging out with each other at churches, camps, restaurants, etc., they will be passing the infection around, and, like a photocopy slowly degrading, the infection mutates, and mutates some more, and becomes a new variant, which is resistant to the vaccines, and existing treatments. At this point, the people who got vaccinated to protect themselves, and everyone around them, can now get this new variant, which they could pass to anyone, vaccinated or not, particularly vulnerable, or not. So they're understandably pretty upset that the unvaccinated are literally prolonging and very likely worsening this pandemic. Often for reasons entirely without reason.

I do apologise for hijacking.

re: dyeing your hair, lots of good colour brands are available in the US, like manic panic, and Arctic fox, and why not go for every colour! Do a rainbow, do a target, a friend once used turquoise and purple to paint my hair like Sully from Monsters Inc, and that was great!

You'll want a dark coloured pillow case, and either use disposable shower caps, or wrap your head in cling film while you let the colour get into your hair, leaving the dye on over night will get you maximum brightness and colour depth.

I hope you have a great time painting your head :D
