I first saw that giant cat and thought "fuck you Reddit!!!" Figuring I was trolled, but then scrolled down to see it was legit.

I understood why the team was gone, and why they just had Jamie and Adam..

But man, they totally shit on fans by having the build team's last episode be a rerun with a tacked on montage that looked like some intern was tasked with creating something in about 2 hrs.

It felt like a slap in the face to the build team, and to their fans.

Ie.

Team Canada

Team USA

Team China

Team Mexico

Team France

And so on?

The cast does not age. That takes a huge story burden off the writing staff.

So many "cute kids" last two seasons, and then become the brats on the show. Dany Pintauro (Jonathan on Whos the boss) comes to mind, same with Ben Seaver on growing pains, or more recently, Luke on Modern Family. It's like writers have no idea what to do with awkward teens. They're not cute, they're not funny, and they can't act, because acting before was just them looking at the camera and saying a 3 work catch phrase.

I have a hard time convincing people at work of this.

I told a co-worker that we live in the safest time in all of history. And she was shocked and couldn't believe me. I explained exactly as you do "our communication is so great that mere minutes after an incident happens somewhere in the world, we know about. That is why it sounds like kids are being abducted constantly, because we hear it from all these different places all the time."

Also the fact that we have "amber alerts" for any time a child goes missing, whether they've wandered off, were taken, or were mistakenly taken by a relative or something. All we hear is "Amber Alert" and our minds instantly go to an image of some psycho who is stalking children in a white van and using the "lost puppy" line.

Most often missing children are due to a custody battle between estranged parents, or due to teenage runaways.

It's pretty rare for complete strangers to just abduct someone, but it does happen. Still in cities of millions of people, 1 person being abducted randomly every 5-10 years is a really really low %.
