Bovine heart valves have slightly better hemodynamics compared to their porcine counterpart. Their are a few science journals on the subject. I'm sure they both function adequately from a biomaterial standpoint...both materials being biocompatible and everything. I guess the edge toward bovine is a matter of biomechanics.
