Prior to your father being taken how did you feel about the Soviet Union? Once taken, did you assume he had been killed?

The kicker was under the old GI Bill. The Post-9/11 GI Bill, signed in 2008 I believe, did away with that. Source: I used the GI Bill, both, to get through college.

Not the OP, but a former adjuster. The one that made me laugh was when they were just "out for a drive."

"You didn't go to the store or anything?" "No, just out for a drive." "At three in the morning you and your sister just went out for a drive for funsies?" "Yup?" "And then you totalled your car by hitting a tree?" "That's exactly what happened." "Was there any alcohol or drugs involved?" "Nope." "Ok."

You probably won't get anything for missed times of work. It wouldn't hurt to try, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

As for your vehicle, all you need is the insurance information. Honestly, as an adjuster, I didn't really care if the other driver had a license. Whether they're licensed or not has no bearing on liability whatsoever.

In this situation your insurance company would look at the damage to show if the other driver was changing lanes. For example, if you tell your insurance company that the guy came from your right and cut you off and you hit him, and the damage is to your front right bumper and to his left rear bumper, the odds are your insurance company will deny any fault on you. The damage shows he was changing lanes.
