As a student that has dealt with online textbooks though, there is a such thing as "display overload" where you simply cannot fit all of the information you need easily and efficiently on your laptop while in class or doing a project (even using virtual desktops), and it suddenly becomes prohibitively time-consuming to try and balance dozens of windows with what little screen real estate you have versus simply having a physical copy of the book next to you. This becomes especially concerning when you are writing upper level research papers or powerpoint/keynote presentations that involve multitudes of sources and topics that you need to be able to reference in any given paragraph. For that reason, I think that while digital textbooks will definitely continue to increase in popularity, physical copies still aren't going anywhere just yet.

When is the best time to purchase textbooks? i.e. when are they typically cheapest to buy if you know ahead of time what you need? I've noticed prices for many books seem to fluctuate wildly (sometimes as much as $100s in terms of differences), but I personally haven't been able to pinpoint the time where most books are at their lowest point yet.

I even settle for weekly on some email lists. Anything more is overkill and instant unsubscribe though in 99% of cases.

Do you accept retroactive degrees? I have a federal loan to sell you. In fact, you can take ownership for the low, low cost of letting me keep my degree and knowledge.
