A good example of this happened some years ago here in Hawaii, where there was a storm that predicted to be pretty bad the next day. Bad enough where schools island-wide had to he canceled for the day (we never get school cancelations here). That next day turned out to be sunshine and rainbows. A lot of memes about our local meteorologist were born that day.

Reminds me of my father who left my mom, as soon as I was born because he had wanted me aborted(I was born in the Philippines). Eventually my mom married to a Navy sailor and we moved to the US. I grew up here most of my life and later learned about my real father from my parents (at this point in time, I always believed my stepdad was my real father). When I learned this I felt very little shock, I just didn't give a damn. All that mattered to me was that I'm alive and well in the US thanks to my stepdad. But here I am, 22, spending most of my life browsing Reddit. I can't the same for the future of that child, but I can somehow relate a little.
