There are several dry villages around AK, most of them have pretty small populations. We're talking a hundred people. Sometimes more, sometimes less. He is selling products to distributors, who are in turn selling to companies like Kroger, or Brown Jug. You won't find a Fred Meyer in a dry village, so, that's not really a viable market even if it wasn't dry.

Everything is expensive here. That's just the way it is. Even if it doesn't have to be flown, shipped, or driven up here, you have things like our highest in the nation cost of electricity, cost of heating which is way more than alot of other places, etc.

follow up: How much work goes in to researching topics before you record, or do you only participate in topics you're already well versed in?

Some of it can be interesting, but it's mostly drama set in a Alaskan backdrop. I don't think Goldrush currently features any mining in AK though.

Hello Mr. Wong, I'm a big fan of the Cracked podcast, and in particular, the ones that feature you. How involved are you in the planning of the podcast? Are there any subjects/episodes you enjoyed or were more excited about than others? Is there a topic that you haven't yet covered that you are interested in doing?
