Why? Did the question kill him?

yeah, but their days drag on longer because of it. I'd rather work an 8 hour day with an hour or half-hour break than a 11 hour day with a 2 hour break.

edit:after reading some of the other responses... nevermind. I guess breaks do suck for some companies in America with the same length of work days.

edit2: Also didn't realize that Hill-Arious was specifically talking about nursing when I initially replied. Reading is hard.

At least Thirty-nine and a half feet is necessary.

I don't think teaming up with a guy is the same thing as being a "damsel in distress". If it turns out that Rose is constantly in danger and relying on Derek to save her, then sure, she meets that stereotype. Otherwise, no. She's just a female character working with a male character to achieve her goals.

This isn't a "significant contradiction" in my opinion.

You could argue that the the fact that Rose is the only named female character in the summary does make the claim that the book revolves around mostly strong female characters a little suspect. But even that isn't something you can definitively say without actually reading the book. Because it's possible that the friends mentioned have a large and important role in the story and it's just not practical to list out their names in the summary.
