I was part of one with a friend of mine3 years ago; it was exciting and frustrating with all the starts and stops. What I was impressed with was the level of care from the transplant center. I was really surprised how well the staff treated me. It definitely felt like they were extended family. She eventually found a direct match and received a transplant. I wish you all the best.

I registered through the DoD site salutetolife.org last year. Are the databases shared or would you need to register multiple times?

This is one of the issues the DATA Act has caused by consolidating unclassified data into one repository. This is good for transparency but makes the aggregation of data much easier, potentially revealing classified information.
