Because if you actually look into it, it was a very rare issue and was a problem with the DESIGN of the engine (Rolls Royce I believe). British Airways had no way of knowing the fault in the design of a relatively small part of a jet engine. It wasn’t an issue with maintenance. If it was an issue with maintenance, then go after the airline.
