I've noticed most (all?) of your heavily-explored recurring characters are women. Is that intentional or did it just sort of happen?

How much do you know is actually done to prevent large scale fires? As I understand it, much of the problem in Colorado now and elsewhere is that much of the underbrush hasn't been burned out in some time, leading to a large buildup of fuel for these massive fires.

Edit: Like that the natural course of these things is to have them burn out a lot. By us humans preventing lots of fires, we set ourselves up for big ones, right?

Do states maintain programs to enact controlled fires to combat this? If they do, are they doing enough? If not, do you think they should?
