I saw most of the first season and I think they did a good job showing how so many people unfamiliar when dealing with the deaf can totally forget or ignore their needs. I remember a scene at the breakfast table where she just sat and nodded because her bio family were talking too fast, multiple people talking at once, didn't face her for her lipreading . She just couldn't keep up and she didn't want to feel rude forcing everyone to conform to her needs and so sat in silent confusion.
I do this all the time. Perhaps I should be more aggressive making people understand my limitations but I don't like drawing so much attention to myself and it can take all my courage just to bring it up the first time I mention it let alone try to issue reminders when they forget because that is how they talk all the time.
I saw maybe 5 mins the other day of a later episode where she is fucking her teacher or something? Just turned into another "let's mention SEX every 5 mins since that's what teenagers like. "

But don't they have staffers to read the bills for them and give them summaries? I am a slow reader and I am not paying myself with others' taxes to read these bills so where can I find the time?
How long do they normally have if we are being "allowed the same time" to learn about the bills?
