What is the most traditional way of preparing a French 75? And if you have one, what variation of it is your favorite?

Do you believe there is a benefit to staying at home during camps, or does the bonus of training with high-level athletes across the country more of a benefit? I understand that your experience and strategy gains exponentially around different minds, but is it more distracting than just staying 8+ weeks around family and friends in your hometown/area?

Sorry to tack on, but I see some establishments utilizing cognac instead of gin, what are your thoughts on that?
