Why did I suddenly stop remembering most of my dreams after they all became lucid dreams in childhood? It's rare for me to remember any dreams since they all became lucid.

Is it common to exercise quite a lot of control of the reality of one's lucid dreams?

Interesting.

The best I can describe it is controlling things by sheer act of will. Takes a bit of effort to change things as they are in my dreams, but I could potentially go anywhere or do anything. Or not exercise any control and just see where my brain is trying to steer things.

All of the dreams I remember are lucid. I have only assumed the ones I don't remember at all are also lucid. I've never tried to make any of them lucid, they just are. Probably from age 4 or 5 maybe. I had less control then. But I could always consciously choose to wake up at a moment's notice.

It was right around then that I stopped remembering most of my dreams as well.

As is, I might remember a dream once every few months now.

So all of the dreams I do remember now in my adult life, going back through childhood, were lucid with a large degree of control. It's just an assumption that the rest were also lucid and just weren't remembered.
