Thanks for your service, and for doing this AMA. I'm a Canadian paramedic and in the process of becoming a Medical Technician in the Army. Not sure of the equivalency or how similar our protocols are and such, but do you have any words of advice, tips, etc.?

Great cause and glad to see it's still going strong and the support is becoming more abundant. Thanks for doing this second AMA. Just a couple questions for you.

1) Have you ever considered presenting the You Can Play ideal to the National Lacrosse League? I'm just a bit north of Toronto, and here hockey and lacrosse go hand in hand really, so it seems like it would be an easy transition.

2) Have you met much opposition specifically from religious groups, or religion-based arenas? I don't mean to spark a religion debate at all with this but am curious since there is an arena in my area with such a base that has apparently been used rather often for practice by the Leafs.

I'm currently a civilian medic, but aspiring to be a combat medic/medical technician for the Canadian forces. Do you have any suggestions, tips, or recommended texts? Also, what did your training entail and, presuming you can discuss it, how was your unit composed? As in, how many other medics were there in comparison to soldiers with different trades.

I also just wanted to thank you for doing a great AMA and keeping things civil. Your answers have been great.

I've been working for about a year as a civilian medic and enjoy it, so hopefully the military is equally enjoyable. I know with their training here they are equivalent to civilian medics, but with some additional skills. I've considered possibly upgrading to physician's assistant at some point down the road too.
