I actually agree with some of these suggestions. I passionately hate poorly worded or ambiguous exam questions. One of my most recent exam questions had 3 negatives in one sentence!

Unless specifically testing reading comprehension or something similar, students shouldn't have to go through unnecessary trouble to decipher the questions in order to determine the test-maker's intent.

This is why I particularly like essay or short answer type questions - because I very often interpret questions differently than most people for whatever reason, and this format allows me make an argument and explain my approach or reasoning.

Also, I'm somewhat in favor of open-note exams, because I think they should test comprehension as opposed to memorization. Given a well written exam, open notes wouldn't really change the curve.

Of course, most of these suggestions are cringe-worthy and embarrassing.
