How do you feel about Devendra Banhart?

I just happened to be watching Wonder Showzen when I saw you were doing this. Crazy. I'm a recent film and animation grad living in LA trying to get into the off beat comedy world. How do I do this? All the advice I get is people trying to steer me into the mainstream Hollywood industry, which I do not want. As of now I'm just writing and making my own stuff while doing some PA work. Is there a specific route to take to work my way up to eventually be working on different obscure comedy shows/ making my own?
