Depends, really. Are we talking horses like mythical horses (Sleipnir, etc), or those ridden by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse perhaps? Or mythical horses in a more specific realm, like those of Middle Earth, or Narnia. 'Regular' horses in a mythical land, those of the Dothraki would work. Also, you can turn it around and make it about ponies, bringing some MLP love into it.

Andrew Lincoln and David Morrissey seem to be pretty good at them.
