You know why that is? Because the flu mutates rapidly. The flu you shot you get every year is different.

Flu vaccines are being developed all year around. The is flu is actually extremely devastating disease. We’re just use to dealing with it. One of the biggest fears is that the coronavirus will become a seasonal disease like the flu. Imagine dealing with two seasonal diseases. It would cripple humanity for a very long time.

Luckily all early reports is the 2019 coronavirus is rather stable. Thus lower chance of mutating and bypassing immunities.

Also, getting the flu shot makes most people immune to the specific flu the shot was designed for. That how vaccines work.

there are a bunch of equations you should probably “memorize” for the SAT. If you give me 2 min, I can probably reproduce the quadratic equation, but that is 2 minutes wasted on a timed test (I actually don’t have it memorized since I use software to solve problems these days). Heck, you probably want to “memorize” multiplication table up to 12-16, the square roots of the first 10 prime numbers, and unit circle at 15 degree increments.

Basically things that show up often, you should probably memorize. That leaves you time to actually think about the problems that require thinking.
