My grandfather was at Totsk during "Totskoye nuclear exercise", luckily the wind blowed not to their side and he didn't get any health issues, rather than many of his friends who were on the side where winds blow died in few years. And he didn't know what's going on at the beginning. They were just brought up to Totsk as soldiers and hadn't been told that they will be in that danger zone. USSR government betrayed its citizens...(
