Hey Mr Tingle! (do you prefer Chuck, or Mr Tingle?) I'm a buckaroo down on his luck, having difficulty in finding my special way. I have a lady buck who I'm getting married to soon, which is our way of proving love is real. That's going great, but in the meantime, the voidcrabs have infested our wallets. It's gotten so bad that we're getting pounded in the butt by our inability to pay bills.

Do you have any advice for fighting off the voidcrabs while we try and prove love is real? Thanks!

PS: I'm excited to tingle my friends in the RPG I heard you're making, and we also love the podcast! Keep being awesome!

The question is why you want or need the buzz, and whether the added risk factor of your drinking is something that truly bothers you. If alcohol has a disruptive and negative affect on your life, you should consider quitting.

That being said, as all the above said, quitting an addiction is not as simple as "I choose to do x thing and then do it". You need to understand your emotional reasoning. Thinking and feeling are the same thing, and if you don't incorporate that into your strategy, you'll fail.

You can 'know' completely that something is bad for you and still do it, because the "feeling" part of your brain disagrees, and ultimately has final say. You need to feel the need to quit, and nurture that feeling.

In less wooj sounding terms, it comes down to how brains work. Your amygdala for example, controls a lot of those feelings, and affects your decision making in profound ways. Your prefrontal cortex is the "thinking" part of your brain. While you can fully understand and reason through the need for change, until you get all of your brain on board, real lasting change will be very difficult.

Damn! Didn't realize how crazy some of those stats were 0_0

I guess more than anything, I'm curious to know how things like involuntary medical holds intersect with race, class, and the prison industrial complex.

Also, what do you think the turning point was? you said the per capita rate has increased, was there legislation or something to that effect that caused this rise?

If you get the opportunity to get newer better robot eyes, will you take it? I remember hearing a few years ago there's a lot of progress being made restoring sight

Assuming this is still going, how do you feel about VR and VR support going forward?
