Is it true that the cow is not killed and that they take some blood through a small cut?

How did you let that go? Have you been able to completely?

Probably that was ingrained in you as it being shameful or inappropriate for kids to know about it, making you feel inappropriate for being the one telling them. When in reality you're just being a good parent.

I think JK Rowling was in a similar position, although her child was not autistic which must be really tough, when she was writing Harry Potter. She'd lost her parents and was a single mom barely scraping by, getting refill after refill to secure her seat at the coffeehouse while she wrote. Then she got rejected over and over. Bet those publishers are kicking themselves now.

Maybe your dreams will come true, maybe they won't. But dreams definitely don't come true when we give up on them. In the meantime, they provide hope. Hope will get you through anything. Its hard to sustain sometimes when it seems like nothing good will come out of it, but it can be done. Worst case scenario your son catches that hope and both your hearts are a little lighter everyday while you do what you're doing. I hope life does get at least a little easier for you. Make sure to take care of your own health, including mental health as you have so much on your plate. That's when we need our health the most and are most likely to not maintain it. I'm sure you are your son's hero. You obviously care for him very much and that is more important than any tangible thing you could ever give him.
