Hey dude :) Grats on the release!

As long as I've known you and as much of your music as I've listened to, your music making process is still a bit of an enigma to me. Your end results seem so polished and effortless, I'm really curious what your actual composition/production workflow looks like.

Do you generally utilize MIDI files or do you rebuild melodies from scratch when you remix? Do you focus more on production or arrangement first? Any insight into your process would be great!

Also, it would be nice to hear a few words about how your collaboration process works when you're utilizing instrumentalists in your tracks, and how you tackle it differently from a solo piece.

Cheers!

Yeah, the usage of Astral Observatory starts out with just chords, then works up to including some of the backing elements, and then finally introducing the melody midway through the song. It's an unconventional approach but I feel like that track was one of the most successful on the album.

Hah, funny you say that, because even with those tracks you mentioned, I thought your initial works-in-progress were pretty solid. I guess our definition of "terrible" is just on a different scale! Thanks for the responses!

It's very cool to see this AMA and the album in general take off like it has. I can't wait to get back to work on Ocarina of Time and start figuring out how we're going to improve on what you've already done here.

I've said it a million times already, but you deserve all the props in the world for pulling this release off. It really has been a pleasure seeing it all come together throughout the last few years. Congratulations!

Moon's Tear on this album that just released is a remix of Astral Observatory! Check it out, it's amazing.

Double the Trouble! director here - thanks for the kind words! I'm really glad to see people enjoying that collab, because it took a LOT of time and effort to coordinate.

To be honest, when I reached out to Dave Wise to contribute to the album, I didn't even expect that he would be able to participate, let alone be willing to head up the largest mega-collab in OCR history (at the time, anyway!) Dave was a pleasure to work with and very enthusiastic about working on the project and making it as epic as possible, even though the project was entirely unpaid, and even threw down a saxophone solo on another album track for good measure.

Getting to not only connect with, but work directly with one of my favorite composers and personal heroes was an amazing moment for a fan like myself. Moments like that are part of what makes OC ReMix such a wonderful community to be a part of.

Glad you enjoyed the track!
