We actually only do killings on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Wednesdays, we kill beef, and we usually only do about 20 to 25 at most which is nothing compared to some of the big slaughterhouses. on Thursdays we kill pigs and goats, and even then we only do about 20 or less. All of the other days it just consist of cutting the beef, pigs, etc. for customers and preparing their orders!

If you're talking about the captive bolt gun, then yes, that's what we use prior to slaughtering!

I used to work in a grocery store as a meat clerk, so using knives and slicers were already something I was accustomed to!

Yes, we skin the animals and the hides are used by the customer (if they want them).

We're always using knives! It's a very hands on job, constantly cutting, trimming, etc. As well as wrapping, which is actually my main job.

This is a very hard question to answer. I love animals to death and always have. Though, I understand the demand for meat and how the food chain works, and that this is the only way we will be able to get the food we have now, unless vegan or vegetarian.

Luckily, where I work, it is nothing like what is shown on PETA. knowing that we try to do everything as human as possible and show as much affection to the animals prior as possible, and give them the best life we can before hand, it helps with dealing with the morality of slaughter.

When it comes to killing, pigs can sometimes be the most difficult. Oddly enough they can get quite aggressive with us to the point where we need extra help to get them to the kill pen which is a job that normally takes only one person. Cows are definitely the easiest. However, the most difficult to process, cut and prepare once dead are probably moose or rabbit due to their contrasting sizes.

Overall though, whether dead or alive, cows are easiest!
