Same, the amount of people who say some bullshit like, "if you've got nothing to hide, why are you afraid?", really drives me nuts. Then if I tell them "do you feel comfortable with people at the government listening in to you telling your doctor you have hemorrhoids or something? Or a really private conversation you have with your partner or parent?". Usually that just gets the "you're just paranoid, they won't do that" response. Then if you tell them there have already been cases of warrentless wiretaps and dragnet surveillance...just just go "meh".

I don't know how to make these people wake the fuck up...

In a way it really reminds me of this quote from the matrix:

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it. -Morpheus

The leading proposal is stratospheric aerosol geoengineering. It would mimic the cooling effect of volcanic eruptions. They add millions of tons of sulphuric acid to the stratosphere (about 60,000 foot up), producing a global layer of haze that persists for a couple of years. We could do this artificially with high-altitude jets at a cost of a few billion dollars per year and offset all future warming.

The question I have about this is: have the effects of the dimming and subsequent reduction in light for plants/algae photosynthesis ever been modeled? I feel like there's zero chance this won't have downstream repercussions.

Please call him Boner in your ads, and use a slogan along the lines of "If you wanna get screwed, vote for Boner, if you don't vote for me". If you do this you will win all the internets.

Hi team Blacksmith, I've seen a few of your fights on youtube and I cant help but ask.....why use a hammer instead of a sharp (armor penatrating) pick? In every fight I've seen, your hammer seems incredibly ineffective. This could be because the striking face on it is far too wide, spreading all the force over too large of an area to cause any real damage. At the very least, why dont you cut down the size of the striking face of the hammer into a ball pin shape made out of stainless steel?
