Outside the pandemic, when you dock at a country do you get to travel around it for a few days? How much sight seeing do you actually get to do as crew?

Do you usually spend your earnings on those days in port? Would the frequency of pay allow it?

What do you think about the capabilities of dry EEG systems and their likelihood for being leaders of non invasive techniques? I was lucky enough to be doing my undergrad at a university with a temporary US lecturer (Jason Connoly, 2017) who had access prestigious funding and their new completely dry EEG headsets that required no straps or fixing, it took just a handful of minutes to put on and calibrate. He was using it to aid communication in paralysed individuals and it's what led me to pursue a career in Neuroscience research, and the concept of just how visionary that bit of kit was has kept curious since. He recently published a paper I think you would be interested in and would happily discuss with you https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://arxiv.org/pdf/2007.11544&ved=2ahUKEwiDhqbkhcbtAhWDilwKHWA-DHwQFjADegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw3QHMyqURx52MdQPEPpnXfE

Your research is incredibly interesting! I have a (unfortunately unrelated) question, my dream was to join the psychology department in bath as an undergrad, and now I'm seriously considering it again as a post grad. Is there anything you, as an experienced member of the department, would recommend to a potential student hoping to go there?

I'm hoping to start my MRes in Neuroscience in August, but I'm still not sure which part of the field interests me most or how to narrow it down. Do you have any tips on that, or generally anything for someone starting their postgraduate research journey? I did my BSc in Psychology.
