Thanks for your reply. MLC is the Marine Labour Convention, which regulates working rights of seafarers. I've often heard that passenger ships are mostly under the so called convenience Flag because they don't require MLC certification and was curious for first hand feedback.

Are the passenger vessels usually MLC certified? Is all personnel on board considered crew, or is there some other regime applicable?

What are the certification requirements for the Shore Excursions Hostess position? Any link to STCW?
