Personally I could never get behind the reasoning that not minding non-existence before your life started somehow translates to not minding the inevitable transition and its result in the end.

Of course I won't mind not existing in a 1000 years, but the fact that I'm unable to mind is exactly the problem in my eyes. Death is a problem we neither can solve nor really experience, since it's the absence of experience. We often perceive of it as a painless black void, but it's impossible to know...you simply won't be able to perceive it anymore.

So for me there's a huge difference between the two transitions. I can cope with it and its one of the big reasons we are what we are, but just the fact that I'm just a small observer of a miniscule part of the universe in an even smaller period of time is pretty humbling. Knowing the inevitable often makes me feel very nauseous. :/
