But think about it, would it be any different if my girlfriend was to be approached by another man in a public place and listen to him call her beautiful/hit on her etc.? Even if she doesn't ACT on the situation, sometimes people just like knowing that they are still attractive to the field despite being tied down in relationships. What do you think?

I like that I heard this from you, because I always felt like an asshole at open mics where everyone was doing this out back. You can't even ask where the bathroom is without someone dropping a punch line about GPS bathroom navigation or something with a similar lame-factor. Then it goes around a circlejerk of one-upping one dude's comment until the fact that the joke being dead... is the joke...
